Service the production team efficiently, ensuring they have all the necessities to complete their tasks. Remove all unused/unwanted materials back to their correct homes. Weigh all materials that are requested to be weighed. Maintain a safe and clean workplace at all times.
Main duties and responsibilities
PS1
- Ensure relevant information is passed on to the next shift;
- Ensure correct labels are printed for all machines that are used in production halls;
- Ensure correct data is recorded on relevant paperwork, production, and quality sheets;
- Ensure correct instructions and settings are followed as per SOP regarding shrink wrapping machines;
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, free of obstructions and hazards;
- Ensure correct pallets, cartons, boxes etc. are issued on all machines and any damaged items are stored and dealt with correctly;
- Complete daily checklist as and when required, follow up on any issues that need attention;
- Assisting production when needed, covering breaks, training, etc;
- Comply with all policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment is maintained;
- Abide by the company’s environmental and quality management procedures;
- Ensure materials are segregated to reduce waste wherever possible and avoid cross-contamination or other debris;
- Ensure waste is removed and disposed of using the most cost-effective process;
- Carry out any reasonable duties if the request that are within your abilities, irrespective of grade/skill level.
- Ensure all waste is weighed where requested;
PS2
- Incorporate all the duties and responsibilities of PS1 - Production support;
- Forward planning to ensure that time and waste is minimised when changing reels;
- Able to roll change and start all production machines;
- Able to clean down all Granulating machines;
- Ensure correct material is loaded onto machines and that the reels are properly centred, and material feed orientation is correct;
- Ensure after job changes unwanted film is weighed and returned to stock correctly, to the designated areas with all reels properly wrapped and labelled;
- Ensure tape, label, and bag racking are stocked up when required;
PS3
- Incorporate all the duties and responsibilities of PS2 - Production support;
- Liaise with shift management on handover and ensure all PS staff are fully utilised and placed accordingly;
- Ensure that granulating personnel and machines are running to optimum performance;
- Operate Flexi truck if trained to do so;
- Carry out blade changes if trained to do so.
